- Find A Stay uses anonymous published property reads. Check live availability and a fresh quote; null, stale or failed results remain unknown. Use get_booking_link only if the approved service exposes it; follow its mode-specific website continuation without constructing a substitute checkout link.
- The guest provides contact details, accepts policies and pays on the website. MCP does not create bookings, accept cards, approve requests or finalize payments. A quote, hold, request or continuation is not booking confirmation.
- Owner Portfolio requires browser sign-in, explicit read-only OAuth consent and valid current permissions. Call get_connected_account before private reads; scopes cover profile, properties, bookings/calendar, financial summaries and released statements. Each tool checks ownership and module access. Public REST OpenAPI does not grant owner access.
- Financial summaries distinguish trust funds and pending payouts from income; entity statements may consolidate several properties. Source pages and PDFs require normal portal authentication. No private owner records belong in public documents or search results.
- Revoke private access in https://portal.walkonvalley.com/account/security and remove the saved client connection. Disabling or uninstalling the package alone does not establish grant revocation. Reconnect with browser consent after expiration/revocation; do not request credentials in chat or use cookie fallbacks.

## Booking Modes

- `instant`: live quote and online checkout are available for eligible dates.
- `request`: dates and guests can be submitted for confirmation.
- `inquiry`: contact Walk On Valley Properties for availability, fit, and booking options.

## Search Workflow

1. Call `GET /api/public/properties/search` with any of these query parameters:
   - `q`: keyword text.
   - `region`: one of `Bitterroot Valley`, `Missoula Valley`, `Sun Valley`.
   - `guests` or `guestCount`: positive whole number.
   - `bookingMode`: `instant`, `request`, or `inquiry`.
   - `startDate` and `endDate`: YYYY-MM-DD date range.
   - `availableOnly=true`: exclude only listings with `available=false`; keep `available=null` results as unknown.
2. Fetch the chosen listing with `GET /api/public/properties/{slugOrId}`.
3. Check dates with `GET /api/public/properties/{slugOrId}/availability?startDate=YYYY-MM-DD&endDate=YYYY-MM-DD&guests=N`.
4. Get pricing with `GET /api/public/properties/{slugOrId}/quote?arrivalDate=YYYY-MM-DD&departureDate=YYYY-MM-DD&guestCount=N`.
5. Use the listing `bookingMode` and quote response to choose request-to-book or checkout preparation.
6. For checkout preparation retries, send a stable `Idempotency-Key` header so duplicate agent submissions can reuse a prepared checkout.

## Booking Safety

- Never invent availability or total cost.
- Treat `available=true` and `available=false` as observations for the checked dates; revalidate before booking. `available=null` remains unknown.
- A booking lock, checkout preparation, submitted request or payment link does not confirm a stay. Only authoritative website booking confirmation and payment finalization where required establish confirmation.
- Ask the guest for explicit confirmation before submitting personal contact details or preparing checkout.
- Exact address and coordinates may be intentionally absent from public data until the appropriate guest flow.
- Public API responses are intended to omit internal owner, staff, vendor, commission, and integration identifiers.

- `GET /api/public/properties/{slugOrId}/quote`: current quote for a listing/date range.
- `POST /api/public/properties/{slugOrId}/booking-locks`: request or hold dates.
- `POST /api/public/properties/{slugOrId}/booking-checkouts/prepare`: prepare checkout from a valid quote token.
- `POST /api/public/booking-checkouts/{checkoutId}/finalize`: finalize a prepared checkout using its unexpired, unrevoked accessToken; the numeric checkout ID alone grants no access.
